Study purpose
The University of Tokyo Veterinary Medical Center is evaluating symptom changes and adverse effects after daily use of a probiotic and oligosaccharide for four weeks in dogs with chronic enteropathy.
Key eligibility points
- Chronic enteropathy diagnosed but medication considered unnecessary
- No antibiotics, corticosteroids, prebiotics or probiotics during the preceding two weeks
- Able to attend scheduled visits at the center
Cross-border value
Because the study concerns mild disease and requires repeated visits, travel from Korea solely for enrollment is generally a low priority. Local diagnostic work-up and record-based specialist review should come first.
Limitations
Safety and efficacy remain under investigation. Results cannot be generalised to unrelated commercial probiotic products.
